Our verdict

3.6out of 5

Simplified makes sense for small teams and agencies that want AI to produce whole campaigns and handle scheduling and approvals in one place. At $79 a month with no refunds, run the $1 trial deliberately and cancel early if it does not save you real hours. Designers on an Indian budget will get more from Canva.

How this score works: the DevMixa score is research-based — we compare official pricing, features, documentation, support options, security and data policies, and public user feedback against other tools in the same category. It is not a hands-on test; tools we test ourselves are marked “Tested”.

What is Simplified?

Simplified's pricing page now leads with a single figure: $79 a month for a Starter plan that runs five marketing campaigns. That is a sharp turn for a product many people still remember as a cheap Canva-plus-copywriter bundle, so this simplified app pricing and free plan review begins with what you get for nothing, what $79 buys, and which older help pages to ignore. The service is run by TLDR Technologies, Inc., which trades as Simplified, and the homepage claims more than 15 million users.

Riley and Simplified's move from separate tools to campaigns

The headline product is now Riley, an AI marketing agent. You give it a brief, it plans the work, produces copy, visuals and video in your brand kit, then holds everything for a human to approve before anything is published. Simplified counts usage in campaigns. One campaign means one brief-to-approval cycle with one output type: a batch of six social posts, an email sequence of three to five emails, or three A/B ad variants for Meta or Google.

Underneath the agent sit the tools that built the brand. There is a graphic design editor with templates, an AI image generator and photo editor, a video editor with subtitles, background removal, translation and short clips, plus a social calendar, inbox and analytics. For teams that already run their own agents, Simplified offers an Agent Builder, an MCP server, a CLI and a content API, and the homepage names Claude, Codex and Cursor as clients that can drive it. It is an all-in-one marketing suite in the literal sense, which helps if you hate juggling six logins and hurts if you only need one of those jobs done well.

Simplified app pricing and free plan review: what each tier costs

Here is what the official pricing page and help centre showed in October 2026. Sale banners and coupon pages are left out.

PlanPriceWhat Simplified says you get
Free (Free Forever)$0Unlimited design projects, 1,000+ fonts, millions of photos and icons, thousands of templates, 1GB storage; AI usage described only as light
Trial$1 for 7 daysStarter access with 5 campaigns, 100K AI words and 100 AI designs; turns into a paid plan unless cancelled 24 hours before it ends
Starter$79/mo5 campaigns a month covering copy, design, video and scheduling; unused campaigns reset each billing period
Pro and BusinessNot publishedMore campaigns and extra seats; no price shown on the pricing page
Extra campaigns$10 eachAvailable on any plan without upgrading

Simplified's own maths puts Starter at under $16 per campaign ($79 divided by five is $15.80). The scheduler page says yearly billing works out cheaper per month, but the pricing page shows no yearly figure, so none is quoted here. Simplified does not list rupee prices either. Indian buyers pay in US dollars on a card, and the bank's forex markup lands on top.

Some older help pages and product pages still describe legacy plans; treat the pricing page as the reference.

Simplified app free plan limits you will hit first

The design side of the free tier is generous. Unlimited projects and a large template and stock library cover most one-person needs for posters, thumbnails and Instagram posts. Storage is the first wall: 1GB fills quickly once you upload brand photos and a few video clips, and Canva's free plan gives 5GB by comparison.

AI is the second wall, and Simplified is vague about it. The AI Writer page calls the free allowance a monthly allocation "suitable for light use" with no number attached. Since the move to a unified credit system, costs are published per action instead: 1 credit per 100 AI words, 60 to 100 credits per AI image depending on the model, at least 1,505 credits for a 60-second text-to-video clip, and 1,750 credits for a full AI blog post with images.

Scheduling limits on the free plan are not stated anywhere we checked. If free posting is your main goal, Buffer's free plan is clearer: three channels and ten scheduled posts per channel.

Simplified AI writer review: templates, languages and credit cost

The ai writer offers 50+ templates, from blog posts and ad copy to YouTube scripts, product descriptions and press releases. It works in 20+ languages; the page lists English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Japanese, Chinese and Korean as examples. Hindi and other Indian languages are not named, so test them during the trial before promising regional content to a client.

Long-form drafts start from a brief or from an AI-made outline, and finished articles can go straight to WordPress (with headings and meta fields) or a Shopify blog. A Knowledge Base learns tone and vocabulary from brand guidelines or sample posts, and Simplified says setup takes about ten minutes. Brand training is a paid-plan feature. Simplified does not name the language models behind the writer, which makes it hard to compare output quality with ChatGPT or Claude on paper.

Simplified social media scheduler and the LinkedIn carousel workflow

The scheduler publishes to Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads and Google Business from one composer, and the product page claims native integrations with 12+ platforms. Posts can go to a fixed date and time or into a queue, and native formats such as Reels, Stories, Shorts, Pins, threads and carousels are supported.

Bulk work runs through the CLI, which handles batch uploads, CSV imports and recurring queues, and the page says you can schedule up to 10,000 posts, without saying whether that varies by plan. For agencies, the useful parts are client approvals that keep a sign-off trail on every post, a social inbox for comments and DMs, and per-account reports. A typical B2B routine works well here: generate a linkedin carousel with the AI carousel generator, adjust it in the editor, send it for client approval, then let it publish on schedule. Large social teams will still find Hootsuite's listening and reporting deeper, though Hootsuite starts at $99 per user a month on annual billing.

Simplified vs Canva for a small Indian marketing team

Canva wins on Indian pricing and polish. Its Pro Lite plan costs ₹1,590 a year in India, Pro costs ₹4,000 a year, and Business is ₹6,800 a year per person, all in rupees. Pro includes social content scheduling and five brand kits, and the free plan already gives 5GB and up to 20 AI uses a month. For graphic design alone, Canva's templates and editor are the safer bet.

Simplified wins when the bottleneck is volume and coordination rather than design. Riley turns one brief into a batch of posts, an email sequence or an ad set, the scheduler covers more networks than most designers need, and approvals plus team collaboration are built into the same workspace. The trade-off is cost: Starter at $79 a month is many times what Canva Pro costs in India, and it carries no rupee price. A freelancer making carousels should pick Canva. An agency producing 30 client posts a week may find the campaign model saves real hours.

Refunds, chargebacks and the $1 trial trap

Read the refund policy (dated 21 April 2026) before you enter a card. Subscriptions, monthly or annual, are non-refundable, and so are unused credits, downgrades and add-on credit packs. The $1 trial converts after seven days, and you must cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Deleting the app or your data does not count as cancelling; you have to do it in Profile, then Billing.

The only refund route is a technical fault on Simplified's side, reported through live chat, on a payment made within the previous 24 hours. Filing a chargeback locks the account straight away, and the policy says it may stay closed even if Simplified wins the dispute. After you cancel, paid access runs to the end of the cycle and the account drops back to Free Forever.

What Simplified's privacy policy promises about your brand assets

The privacy policy, last updated 5 May 2026, makes a firm promise: designs, captions, videos and brand assets are not used to train AI models, Simplified's own or anyone else's. Vendors are bound by data processing agreements. Data may be stored in the United States, and the policy itself says full GDPR and CCPA compliance is "coming soon", which matters if you handle European client data. Deletion requests go to hello@simplified.com and are processed within 30 days.

Commercial use is less clear. The terms of service date from September 2022, say you keep ownership of what you upload, but also grant Simplified a broad licence over that content and do not address AI-generated output at all. Ask support in writing before you resell AI work to clients.

Is Simplified legit? What the ratings say

It is a real US company (TLDR Technologies, Inc., with a registered address in Covina, California) and its homepage cites a 4.6 G2 rating from more than 5,000 reviews. The mobile apps tell a different story: Simplified AI shows 3.7 stars and 100K+ downloads on Google Play, and 2.5 stars from just 20 ratings on the App Store.

Who should pay for Simplified, and what to try instead

The best fit is a small business, startup or agency that needs steady social, email and ad output without a full-time designer, and that values approvals and one shared calendar. If design is your main job, Canva is cheaper in India and stronger. If you only need scheduling, Buffer starts at $5 per channel a month on annual billing. For pure writing, Jasper, Copy.ai or a general assistant like ChatGPT or Claude will cost less than Starter.

To make the trial count, set up brand memory and the brand kit on day one, connect two or three real social accounts, and run one campaign of each type: social batch, email sequence, ad set. Send one batch through the approval flow to a colleague. Then set a reminder for day five, because after day seven the $79 charge is not refundable.

Simplified FAQ

What is the Simplified app?

Simplified is a web-based marketing workspace from TLDR Technologies, Inc. that combines an AI marketing agent called Riley with an AI writer, graphic design editor, video editor and social media scheduler. Riley turns a brief into social posts, email sequences or ad sets and waits for approval before publishing. Android and iOS apps are also available.

Is Simplified free?

Yes, there is a Free Forever plan with unlimited design projects, 1,000+ fonts, stock photos and icons, templates and 1GB of storage. AI usage on the free plan is described only as a light monthly allowance, with no exact number published. Agent campaigns and higher AI limits need a paid plan.

How much does Simplified cost?

The official pricing page lists Starter at $79 a month for five campaigns, with extra campaigns at $10 each. Pro and Business add campaigns and seats, but the pricing page does not show their prices. A seven-day trial is available for $1, and yearly billing is described as cheaper per month without a published figure.

Simplified vs Canva: which is better?

Canva is cheaper and stronger for pure design, with Pro at ₹4,000 a year and Pro Lite at ₹1,590 a year in India. Simplified suits teams that want AI to produce whole campaigns and run scheduling, approvals and an inbox in one place. Freelance designers should start with Canva; content-heavy agencies may prefer Simplified.

Is Simplified legit?

Can Simplified schedule social media posts?

Yes. Its scheduler publishes to Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads and Google Business, with queues, CSV imports through the CLI and client approvals. The product page says up to 10,000 posts can be scheduled. Free plan scheduling limits are not published.

Does Simplified have an AI writer?

Yes. The AI Writer has 50+ templates, works in 20+ languages and can draft long-form articles from an outline and publish them to WordPress or Shopify. Usage costs 1 credit per 100 words under the unified credit system. Simplified does not name the AI models behind it.

The $1 trial converts to a paid plan after seven days unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. A refund may be considered only for a reported technical fault on a payment made within the last 24 hours.

What are the best Simplified alternatives?

Canva is the main alternative for design and has rupee pricing. Buffer and Hootsuite are dedicated social schedulers, with Buffer starting at $5 per channel a month on annual billing. For writing alone, Jasper, Copy.ai or a general assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude cost less than Starter.

Who should use Simplified?

Small businesses, startups and agencies that need a steady flow of social posts, emails and ads without hiring a designer get the most from it. Agencies benefit from client approvals and a shared calendar. Solo designers and users who only need scheduling will usually pay less elsewhere.
