Our verdict
Shadowfax is a credible, listed carrier that is at its best on same-day, hyperlocal and reverse deliveries in Indian metros, and SF360 finally opens that network to small sellers with D+2 COD and no minimums. Run a two-week pilot on your main zones before committing, because rates, API access and claims terms only become clear after sign-up.
How this score works: the DevMixa score is research-based — we compare official pricing, features, documentation, support options, security and data policies, and public user feedback against other tools in the same category. It is not a hands-on test; tools we test ourselves are marked “Tested”.
What is Shadowfax?
On 21 April 2026, Shadowfax told the stock exchanges it had opened Shadowfax 360, a self-serve shipping portal for small sellers and D2C brands with no minimum order requirement. Before that, the Bengaluru company was known mainly for its work with large platforms such as Flipkart, Meesho, Myntra and Nykaa. This Shadowfax logistics seller services review looks at what that shift means for a Shopify store or Instagram seller sending 50 to 5,000 parcels a month, where the company is strong, and where the documentation still runs thin.
From food runs in 2015 to a listed parcel network
Shadowfax Technologies started in 2015 as a last-mile food delivery operation, according to its About page, and crossed 10,000 orders a day in its first year. It then grew into ecommerce logistics, carrying marketplace parcels, returns and same-day orders. Its website now quotes 16,372+ PIN codes, 2,500+ cities, 3,500+ trucks, 53 lakh sq ft of operating space and more than 200 crore parcels delivered. About 2.9 lakh riders work on its network each quarter.
It is also a public company. Shares of Shadowfax Technologies Limited listed on the NSE and BSE on 28 January 2026 and opened roughly 9% below the issue price, as reported by Outlook Business, Outlook Money and Angel One. The head office is in Bellandur, Bengaluru. The April 2026 exchange filing names that Bellandur address as the registered office, although the older terms of service page still shows a registered office in Pitampura, New Delhi.
So, is Shadowfax legit? Yes. It is a listed Indian company, files disclosures with the NSE, and names Flipkart, Ajio, Nykaa, Uber and Meesho among its clients. That does not guarantee good service on every lane.
What Shadowfax 360 gives a small D2C brand
For sellers, the product to know is Shadowfax 360 (SF360), found at shadowfax360.in. A July 2026 company blog lists what the dashboard handles: creating shipments, scheduling pickups, tracking, courier management, COD remittance and order fulfilment. The onboarding path has five steps: create an account, complete verification, connect your store, add money to the wallet, then start booking shipments.
- Services on the B2C side: Express Parcel for regular orders, Prime for same-day delivery, Prime Large for big or bulky items, Critical Logistics for time-sensitive loads and reverse logistics for returns and RTO.
- Store connections: one-click Shopify and WooCommerce integration, per the NSE disclosure. A Shopify App Store listing by Shadowfax Technologies has existed since June 2024.
- RTO tools: an RTO Predictor, described in the NSE filing, that estimates how likely an order is to come back before you dispatch it. The homepage also lists two in-house products, Shadowfax Maps and Shadowfax Shield, but says little about how they work inside SF360.
- Billing style: zone-based flat rates with no extra weight-slab charges, which the company pitches as a way to end weight disputes.
Developers will notice one gap. Shadowfax does not publish a public API reference on its site. The hyperlocal page says orders can arrive through API integration or a client's own order management platform, yet there is no open developer portal to read before signing up. Expect API access to be a conversation with the sales team.
Does Shadowfax offer COD, and how fast is the money back?
Yes. Cash on delivery is part of SF360. The company advertises D+2 COD remittance at no extra cost and says there is no separate COD handling charge. The Shopify listing words it as remittance in as little as two days, with terms applying. For a COD-heavy brand, that cycle matters more than a rupee of freight.
Ask during onboarding how D+2 is counted and what happens on weekends, because the public pages do not say.
Shadowfax courier charges for sellers: what is public and what is not
There is no public rate card. Shadowfax quotes rates per shipment, by zone, once you have registered and cleared verification, and the SF360 rate calculator shows them inside your account. A few promotional starting figures do appear on Shadowfax pages and its Shopify listing, but they contradict one another and carry no weight, zone or validity terms, so this review leaves them out.
| Item | What official pages say | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Forward freight | Zone-based flat rates, no weight-slab add-ons | Your zone matrix and volumetric rules |
| COD | No extra handling fee, D+2 remittance | Cut-off for D+2 and any reversal charges |
| RTO and reverse | Reverse Parcel and RTO handling offered | RTO freight rate per zone |
| Minimums | No minimum order count for SF360 | Wallet top-up size |
| Enterprise | Custom contracts via the Client Partner form | SLA penalties and claims process |
The bigger cost risk is RTO freight on failed COD orders, so check that line first.
Shadowfax hyperlocal delivery for dark stores and restaurants
Hyperlocal delivery is where Shadowfax has the longest history. Its hyperlocal page claims 100+ cities and 500K+ daily orders. That city count describes the hyperlocal footprint only, which is far smaller than the 2,500+ cities quoted for parcels. The stated flow: the order arrives via API, the nearest rider is assigned on distance and availability, pickup happens at a store, restaurant or warehouse, and the drop is closed with an OTP or proof of delivery. Target sectors include grocery and quick commerce, pharmacy, electronics, retail and food delivery logistics for restaurants.
Flipkart's same-day programme is a good reference point. A Flipkart director quoted on the site calls Shadowfax its exclusive partner for same-day delivery across Flipkart and Myntra, and a key partner for grocery and quick commerce. This is flash delivery work, inside a few hours from a nearby hub, which most aggregators cannot offer a small brand.
There is also an EV fleet offering for clients who want electric two-wheelers on their routes. No fleet size or pricing is given, so fleet management details come from sales.
For individuals and small shops, the Shadowfax Courier app (Android and iOS) handles pickup and drop inside a city. You book a pickup, a nearby partner collects the parcel, and the receiver confirms with an OTP. The service page promises delivery in about 30 to 45 minutes within the city. Its visible text gives no city count; only the page's social-sharing metadata mentions 50 cities, so confirm in the app that your city is live before relying on it.
How a Shadowfax parcel moves, and how buyers track it
A typical SF360 order works like this. Your Shopify order syncs into the dashboard, you create the shipment and print the label, a rider picks it up from your warehouse, it is sorted and routed through a hub, and a last mile rider delivers it. If the buyer refuses or is unreachable, it enters the RTO loop.
Buyers track with the AWB number or order ID at shadowfax.in/track. The Shopify app also sends WhatsApp and SMS status updates.
Shadowfax vs Delhivery for an online store
Delhivery is the obvious comparison. Both are listed Indian logistics firms that serve marketplaces and D2C brands, and both sell to small sellers directly. Delhivery's range runs from surface and express parcels to B2B cargo, part-truckload freight, intracity delivery and cross-border shipping to 220-plus countries, with Delhivery One as its self-serve panel. Shadowfax is narrower and faster: express and same-day parcels, returns, hyperlocal and quick commerce, built on a very large rider base.
- Pick Shadowfax if you need same-day or 30-minute delivery in big metros, heavy reverse pickups (fashion and beauty), or a flat zone rate without weight slabs.
- Pick Delhivery if you also need B2B part-truckload freight or international shipping from one vendor.
Many brands do not pick one. An aggregator such as Shiprocket, which advertises 42+ courier partners including Delhivery, lets you compare couriers per PIN code from one wallet, so check whether Shadowfax appears on your account's courier list. Some sellers then send metro orders to Shadowfax and remote PIN codes to whichever carrier performs better there. That is also the honest answer on Shadowfax alternatives for sellers: Delhivery, Ecom Express, Xpressbees and aggregator platforms, chosen by lane performance rather than brand.
Shadowfax delivery partner jobs, earnings and what riders should check
This section is for riders, not sellers. The delivery partner app on Google Play has 5M+ installs and, in October 2026, showed a 4.6 rating from about 2.35 lakh reviews. Joining takes three steps on the website: register in the app, finish verification and training, then start accepting orders. The Play listing asks for age 18+, Aadhaar, PAN, a bank account, an Android phone and a bike, scooter, bicycle or EV (rentals are offered).
On rider earnings, the company's website advertises up to ₹45,000 a month, paid weekly, plus performance incentives and referral rewards. That is Shadowfax's own ceiling, not an average. Real income depends on city, hours, order mix and fuel. The company's Play listing also claims insurance benefits of up to ₹7.5 lakh from day one. Read the incentive terms before renting a vehicle.
Data, claims and liability terms to read before shipping
The privacy policy allows sharing with payment processors, banks, partners in and outside India, and Truecaller. The mobile app may collect data on other installed apps. A named grievance officer (Praharsh Chandra) is listed with a phone number and email. The terms ban items such as jewellery, cash, dry ice, chemicals and arms, and keep disputes with courts in Bengaluru. Public terms do not set a compensation cap for lost or damaged parcels, so get the claims process and liability limit written into your seller agreement.
Where this Shadowfax logistics seller services review lands on weak spots
- No public rate card; real prices appear only after onboarding.
- No open API documentation for developers before sign-up.
- Thin store reviews: in October 2026 the Shopify app showed 1.6 out of 5 from just four reviews, and the iOS courier app 2.7 from seven ratings.
- No public status page, and seller support runs mainly through email and a contact form.
- SF360 is new (April 2026), so small-seller operations have a short track record.
Who uses Shadowfax, and a sensible first week
The client list leans to large platforms (Flipkart, Myntra, Meesho, Ajio, Nykaa, Snapdeal, Uber) plus brands such as Mokobara and The Souled Store, and SF360 is meant to add small D2C sellers.
If you want to test it, register on SF360, finish verification, and connect Shopify or WooCommerce. Pull your rate card from the calculator and compare it with your current carrier for your top five destination zones. Send 50 to 100 orders, half COD, through Shadowfax for two weeks, and measure delivery time, RTO rate and actual COD credit dates. If it wins on metro lanes, shift those and keep a second carrier for the rest. That is how to finish your own Shadowfax logistics seller services review with real numbers.
