Our verdict
Restream is the practical choice if you already stream from OBS or an encoder and want the same show on several platforms with one chat. Standard at $19 a month covers most small creators; move to Professional only for 1080p browser Studio or a second seat. Download recordings promptly, because they expire.
How this score works: the DevMixa score is research-based — we compare official pricing, features, documentation, support options, security and data policies, and public user feedback against other tools in the same category. It is not a hands-on test; tools we test ourselves are marked “Tested”.
What is Restream?
Two destinations for free, eight on the Business plan, and a claimed delay of under two seconds however many channels you add: those are the numbers that decide most purchases at Restream. This restream multistreaming pricing and review page is for Indian creators, coaching businesses, agencies and SaaS teams who want one broadcast to land on YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitch, Facebook and a custom server at once, without paying for a separate upload line for each. All figures come from Restream's pricing page and its help centre, read in October 2026.
One upload, many channels: how Restream's relay works
You send a single feed to Restream, either from the browser-based Restream Studio or from an encoder such as OBS, vMix or a hardware box over RTMP. Restream's servers copy that feed and push it to every channel you have switched on. Because the copying happens on Restream's side, your own connection only has to carry one stream, however many channels are switched on. The pricing FAQ adds that Restream itself sets no bitrate cap, although individual platforms still apply their own.
The supported list covers 30+ services. The common pairing for Indian brands is to stream to YouTube and Facebook together, then add LinkedIn for B2B webinars or Twitch for gaming. Anything missing from the list can usually be reached with custom RTMP, as long as the target gives you a server URL and a stream key (Wowza and GoTo Webinar are the examples Restream itself gives).
Multistream output from an encoder can go up to 4K (2160p) on every plan, Free included. The browser Studio is different: it sends 720p on Free and Standard, and 1080p only from Professional upward. That split matters more than most buyers expect, and we come back to it in the pricing section.
Restream free plan limits that shape your first month
The Free plan costs nothing and has no end date. According to the pricing page and the help article "Is Restream free?", it gives you:
- 2 channels live at the same time
- 6 on-screen participants in Studio (you plus 5 guests), streamed in 720p
- Multi-platform chat, stream analytics and the event scheduler
- Restream branding, which the help centre describes as a small watermark and/or a link to Restream in your stream description
The gaps are just as clear. Recordings need a paid plan, according to the recordings article, so a free user cannot download last night's webinar from Restream. Facebook Pages and custom RTMP destinations also sit behind a paid plan, per the plan-selection guide. Files you upload on Free are kept for 30 days; on paid plans uploads stay until you delete them. For a creator testing YouTube plus Twitch, Free is a real working tier. For a business that needs a Facebook Page, a clean frame and a saved copy, it is a trial in practice.
Restream studio pricing and what each tier adds
Every price below is the rate for monthly billing as shown on restream.io/pricing. The page also has an annual toggle marked "Save 20%", but it does not print the yearly dollar amounts, so we have not listed any; confirm the annual figure at checkout. Restream bills in US dollars; there is no INR price list, so Indian cards are charged in USD and your bank may add a foreign-transaction fee plus GST.
| Plan | Price (billed monthly) | Channels at once | Studio on-screen | Studio quality | Team seats |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 2 | 6 | 720p, Restream branding | 1 |
| Standard | $19/mo | 3 | 10 | 720p, no branding | 1 |
| Professional | $49/mo | 5 | 10 | 1080p | 2 |
| Business | $239/mo | 8 | 10 | 1080p | 2 |
| Enterprise | Contact sales | 25+ (custom) | Custom | 1080p | Custom |
Paid plans record streams in the cloud. The pricing table lists per-stream limits of 6 or 10 hours and retention of 15 or 30 days, but its columns do not line up cleanly with the plans, so check your billing page for your tier's exact figures. Either way, recordings expire, so download anything you want to keep. There is no cap on how many recordings you store, only on length and retention. Business adds a website embed player for up to 1,000 concurrent viewers. Enterprise brings SSO, multiple workspaces, SRT ingest, stream backup and a dedicated account manager.
Watch the add-ons. Extra seats are listed at $25 per seat per month. The Clips add-on is +$19/mo on Standard (50 clips), +$29/mo on Professional and +$59/mo on Business. The webinar add-on is +$99/mo for 100 attendees on Standard or Professional and +$299/mo for 500 on Business. A small agency that wants 1080p Studio, two extra editors and webinars is closer to $200 a month than $49.
Our read: Standard at $19 is the fair entry point if you mostly stream from OBS, because encoder output is not capped at 720p anyway. If your show runs in the browser Studio with guests, Professional is the tier where the picture finally looks like 1080p.
Restream vs StreamYard for interview-style shows
StreamYard is the tool most buyers shortlist next to Restream. Both run a browser studio with 10 people on screen on paid plans, both offer custom RTMP, and both brand free streams. The money and the storage model differ.
- Price: StreamYard Core is $44.99/mo billed monthly ($35.99/mo yearly) and Advanced is $88.99/mo ($68.99/mo yearly), per its pricing page. Restream's 3-channel Standard is $19/mo and 5-channel Professional is $49/mo, both on monthly billing.
- Destinations: StreamYard Core reaches 3 destinations and Advanced 8. Restream gives 3, 5 or 8 by tier.
- Recordings: StreamYard keeps 50 hours of permanent storage on paid plans and offers local recordings. Restream's cloud recordings expire after 15 or 30 days.
- Encoder use: Restream was built as a relay for OBS and hardware encoders first, so pushing a 4K encoder feed is routine. StreamYard is studio-first.
Pick StreamYard if you want a guest studio with lasting cloud storage and are happy to pay more. Pick Restream if you already produce in OBS or vMix, or need more destinations per rupee. Other names worth a look are Castr for 24/7 pre-recorded channels and Riverside for separate high-quality guest tracks.
Wiring OBS into Restream in five minutes
The OBS integration is built in. Restream's help article (updated April 2026) gives this path:
- In OBS, open Settings, then Stream, and choose "Restream.io" from the Service list.
- Either click Connect Account and log in, or paste the stream key from Restream's Home screen (New Stream, then Encoder | RTMP).
- Leave Server on Autodetect, or pick the nearest region by hand if Autodetect behaves oddly from India.
- Under Output, Restream recommends CBR rate control, a 2-second keyframe interval and the Main profile.
Switch on your channels in the Restream dashboard, press Start Streaming in OBS, and the feed fans out. Connecting the account (rather than pasting a key) also lets you add Restream Chat windows to the OBS dashboard, though Restream's chat guide says that only works on Windows.
Restream Chat: how to use one inbox for every platform
Unified chat is the feature small teams lean on most during a live show. Open it from the dashboard (More, then Chat app), inside the Studio's chat tab, or in the desktop client for Windows, Mac or Linux. Comments from YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitch and Discord land in one window, and you can reply to all channels or to just one. To show comments on screen, copy the "embed in stream" URL from chat settings into an OBS browser source and choose one of 30+ themes; in Studio the overlay is a click. The desktop client adds text-to-speech and desktop alerts that the web version lacks. One catch: the Instagram help article says Restream Chat does not support Instagram.
Instagram, pre-recorded shows and scheduled events
Instagram works, with conditions. You need a public Professional account with 1,000+ followers, a fresh stream key from Instagram's desktop Live setup for every broadcast, and a vertical 720x1280 feed for best results. Instagram itself cuts these broadcasts off at one hour, as Restream's article points out.
Pre-recorded streaming runs through Upload & Stream, which comes with paid tiers, with limits that grow by plan; Enterprise lists it as unlimited. The event scheduler lets you set up a broadcast in advance so each platform shows an upcoming event, which helps a course launch or product demo collect reminders before it starts. Analytics then show viewers and engagement across all channels on one screen.
Fixing a Restream stream that will not connect
If the app sits on "connecting" or shows a network error, Restream's network settings article points at firewalls and office security gateways first. Allow *.restream.io, open port 443 (including WebSocket traffic), port 1935 for RTMP or RTMPS from encoders, UDP 2010 for SRT, and UDP 3478 to 3479 for Studio. Corporate and campus networks in India often block these. For OBS, try a manual server region and run Restream's OBS Analyzer. If YouTube shows nothing, check that the YouTube channel is switched on and live streaming is enabled. Support is listed as 24/7 through the Need Help button.
Data, branding and the fine print
Restream, Inc. is based in Austin, Texas. Its privacy policy (last modified August 2026) says it does not sell personal information and does not use it to train its own AI models, although third-party providers behind features such as Clips are excluded from that promise. It discloses some data to Google and Meta for ad retargeting, and data may be stored outside your country. There are GDPR and CCPA sections but no India-specific data residency. Your stream content stays yours to monetise on each platform; Restream only relays it.
Who gets the most from Restream multistreaming pricing and review findings
Restream suits creators and businesses who already broadcast from OBS or a hardware encoder and want more platforms without more upload bandwidth. It also suits marketing teams that want to reply to YouTube and LinkedIn viewers from one chat. It suits less well a podcaster who needs permanent cloud archives (recordings expire), or a team that needs INR invoicing.
A sensible plan: start on Free, connect YouTube and one more channel, and run a private test with OBS. If the watermark, missing recordings or the two-channel cap gets in the way, move to Standard. Go to Professional only when browser Studio quality or a second seat justifies $49 a month.

Restream is a cloud multistreaming service from Restream, Inc. in Austin, Texas. You send one live feed from its browser Studio or an encoder like OBS, and it relays that feed to YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitch and 30+ other platforms at once. It also gives you one combined chat and cross-platform analytics.
Is Restream free?
Yes, there is a free plan with no end date. It allows 2 channels at once, a 720p Studio with up to 6 people on screen, chat, analytics and scheduling, but streams carry Restream branding. Recordings, Facebook Pages and custom RTMP need a paid plan.
How many platforms can Restream stream to?
Restream supports 30+ platforms plus any custom RTMP destination. How many you can use at the same time depends on the plan: 2 on Free, 3 on Standard, 5 on Professional, 8 on Business and 25+ on Enterprise.
How do I use Restream with OBS?
In OBS go to Settings, then Stream, and pick Restream.io as the service. Connect your account or paste the stream key from Restream's Home screen (New Stream, Encoder | RTMP), and leave Server on Autodetect. Restream recommends CBR, a 2-second keyframe interval and the Main profile.
Restream vs StreamYard: which is better?
Restream is cheaper per destination, with 3 channels for $19/mo and 5 for $49/mo on monthly billing, and it is built for OBS and hardware encoders. StreamYard Core costs $44.99/mo billed monthly (or $35.99/mo billed yearly) and keeps 50 hours of permanent recordings, which Restream does not. Choose Restream for encoder workflows and reach, StreamYard for a studio with lasting storage.
How much does Restream cost?
On monthly billing the pricing page lists Standard at $19/mo, Professional at $49/mo and Business at $239/mo, and Enterprise is quoted by sales. An annual option is advertised with a "Save 20%" label, but no yearly dollar figures are published. Extra seats are listed at $25/seat/month, and Clips and webinars are paid add-ons. Prices are in USD only.
Does Restream support Instagram Live?
Yes. You need a public Professional Instagram account with at least 1,000 followers and a new stream key from Instagram's desktop Live setup for each broadcast. Restream's guide recommends a vertical 720x1280 feed and notes these streams are capped at one hour. Restream Chat does not support Instagram.
How do I fix Restream not connecting?
Restream's network guide says connection errors usually come from firewalls or security gateways. Allow *.restream.io and open port 443, port 1935 for RTMP, UDP 2010 for SRT and UDP 3478 to 3479 for Studio. In OBS, try a manual server region and run Restream's OBS Analyzer, then contact the 24/7 support chat if it still fails.
What are the best Restream alternatives?
StreamYard is the closest alternative for browser-based shows with guests. Castr suits 24/7 pre-recorded channels, and Riverside suits interviews that need separate high-quality tracks. OBS with a multistream plugin is a free route if you have enough upload bandwidth.
Who is Restream best for?
Restream fits creators, agencies and marketing teams who want one broadcast on several platforms, especially if they already use OBS or a hardware encoder. Its unified chat helps when one person moderates many channels. It suits less well users who need permanent cloud recordings or INR billing.
