Our verdict

3.8out of 5

Ubersuggest is the cheapest credible way to get keyword, audit and rank data in one place, and the lifetime option makes sense for solo site owners who plan to stay with SEO for years. Try the 7-day monthly trial first, because lifetime purchases cannot be refunded. Agencies with many clients or API needs should pay for Semrush or Ahrefs instead.

How this score works: the DevMixa score is research-based — we compare official pricing, features, documentation, support options, security and data policies, and public user feedback against other tools in the same category. It is not a hands-on test; tools we test ourselves are marked “Tested”.

What is Ubersuggest?

Neil Patel paid $120,000 for Ubersuggest in February 2017, and the tool's biggest selling point since then has been an unusual one for SEO software: you can pay once and keep it. This review sets out the Ubersuggest lifetime plan price and limits next to the monthly subscription, explains what the free account actually allows, and compares the tool with Semrush so you can decide whether a one-time payment of a few hundred dollars beats a monthly bill. Facts come from the official pricing page, the Ubersuggest homepage, the company's terms of service and the founder's own blog posts about the product, which fill in figures the JavaScript-heavy pricing page does not print.

Ubersuggest lifetime plan price and limits, tier by tier

Three self-serve tiers exist: Individual, Business and Enterprise. The pricing page itself only prints a range of US$29 to US$99 a month. Neil Patel's own Ubersuggest review on his blog (updated July 2026) splits that into $29, $49 and $99 a month, and lists lifetime access at $290, $490 and $990 as a one-time payment, roughly ten months of the monthly fee.

Monthly price$29$49$99
Lifetime (one-time)$290$490$990

Keyword suggestions per month20,00050,000100,000
Rows per export2,0005,00010,000
Bulk keyword analysis502001,000

Add-ons cost $5 a month each and cover extra daily searches, projects, tracked keywords, competitor domains, users, AI prompts and monthly credits. All three tiers share a three-year link history, 30 days of new and lost links and a weekly crawl schedule.

Before paying once, read the small print. The terms define "lifetime" as lasting for as long as Ubersuggest exists, at the company's discretion. A lifetime license is tied to the email address you buy with and cannot be moved to another person or address, so do not buy it on a work email you might lose. The pricing FAQ calls lifetime purchases final and non-refundable (the terms carve out a 14-day cancellation right for EU and UK buyers), and there is no trial on them. The homepage also says the lifetime option centres on the core SEO tools, while the AI features get tighter limits than on a subscription.

Ubersuggest free searches per day: what a free account really gets

Neither the homepage nor the pricing page prints a free quota; the pricing FAQ only says you can cancel or drop to a free account at any time. The Ubersuggest vs Moz post on neilpatel.com (updated April 2026) gives the numbers: one search a day without logging in, three a day once you create a free account with Google sign-in and no card. That is enough to check a handful of keywords or peek at one competitor domain, and nothing more.

When the daily cap hits, the options are simple. Wait for the reset the next day, use the free Chrome extension (it adds volume, CPC and traffic estimates under Google results and keyword suggestions on YouTube and Amazon), or start the 7-day trial on a monthly plan. The trial needs a card and is a one-time offer, so cancel before day seven if you only wanted a sprint of research.

Who gets real value from a one-time payment

The tool suits bloggers, freelancers, small business owners and two- or three-person agencies in India who need keyword ideas, a site audit and some rank tracking but cannot justify $139 or more every month. If you run one site and expect to keep doing SEO for more than a year, the Individual lifetime tier pays for itself after about ten months of avoided subscription fees.

Agencies managing 20 or more client sites, technical SEO teams crawling large e-commerce catalogues, and anyone who needs an API should look elsewhere. The pricing FAQ states plainly that API access is not available, and the 10,000-page weekly crawl on Enterprise is small for a store with lakhs of URLs.

An Ubersuggest keyword research guide in five searches

Since even paid users count reports, it helps to work in a fixed order:

  • Search one seed term such as "gst billing software" in Keyword Overview, set to India and English. Note the volume, CPC and the SEO difficulty score.
  • Open Keyword Ideas and filter by difficulty below 30 and volume above 100. Questions and prepositions tabs surface long-tail phrases that suit blog posts.
  • Check the top ten results for your best candidate, looking at which pages rank and how strong those domains are, so you can see whether small sites get in at all.
  • Run Content Ideas on the same term to see which existing articles earned the most social shares and backlinks.
  • Add the final list to a project so rank tracking starts recording positions from day one.

Paid plans also include AI prompt ideas per keyword (25, 50 or 75 depending on tier) and Content Studio, which drafts articles from chosen keywords using a monthly credit allowance.

Competitor research, backlinks and the site audit

Type any domain into Traffic Overview to get organic and paid traffic estimates, its top pages and the keywords driving visits. Competitor analysis and keyword gap reports then show terms a rival ranks for and you do not. Backlink data covers referring domains, new and lost links and a backlink opportunity report, though the homepage admits there is no toxic-link scoring or disavow workflow. The terms note that URL metrics come from the Moz Links API.

The site audit crawls in the background each week and groups errors, warnings, on-page issues, security and speed problems. For a 300-page WordPress site, the Individual plan's 1,000-page crawl is plenty. A WordPress plugin, a ChatGPT app and an MCP connection for Claude and Cursor round out the integrations.

AI search visibility, the newest add-on to the dashboard

Subscriptions now track how your brand appears in ChatGPT and Gemini answers, with Google AI Overviews added on Enterprise. You get a visibility score, share of voice and sentiment per engine, refreshed monthly on Individual, every two weeks on Business and weekly on Enterprise. The homepage FAQ says Claude, Grok and Copilot are not covered yet (it contradicts itself on Perplexity, so assume it is missing until the dashboard shows it). Treat this module as a bonus rather than a reason to buy, especially on a lifetime plan where AI limits are lower.

How far to trust the numbers

The pricing FAQ describes its data as estimates pulled from multiple providers, and the terms provide the service "as is" with no accuracy warranty. In practice, search volumes and traffic figures should be read as direction, not fact. Compare a few keywords against Google Search Console impressions for your own site, and you will see how close the estimates land for your niche. For relative decisions (is keyword A bigger than keyword B, is rival X growing) the data is usually good enough.

Ubersuggest vs Semrush for a small Indian agency

Semrush's pricing page lists its SEO plan at $139 a month, with Starter at $199 and Pro+ at $299 for combined SEO and AI search features. Its free account allows 10 reports a day across the main tools. Ubersuggest's top monthly tier costs less than Semrush's entry plan.

Entry paid plan$29/mo$139/mo
One-time optionYes, from $290No
Free daily reports3 with a free account10

Semrush wins on database depth, PPC and local tools, team features and reporting polish. Ubersuggest wins on cost and simplicity. A three-person agency billing ₹25,000 a month per client may find Semrush worth it; a solo consultant with three retainers will probably not.

Paying from India: dollars, cards and GST

The official pricing page we loaded shows prices only in US dollars, and no INR price list is published. Check the currency and amount on the checkout screen before entering card details. Payment works with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, UnionPay and PayPal. Your bank will convert the charge at its own rate and may add a foreign transaction fee, and invoices under a company name can be requested from support by email.

Ubersuggest alternatives, free and paid

  • Google Search Console: free, exact click and impression data for your own site, no competitor view.
  • Google Keyword Planner: free with a Google Ads account, volume ranges unless you run ads.
  • AnswerThePublic: also owned by NP Digital, good for question-style content ideas with a small free allowance.
  • Semrush free account: 10 reports a day, against Ubersuggest's three.
  • Ahrefs Free: limited Site Explorer and Site Audit for sites you verify, as listed on its pricing page.

Account rules worth knowing before you share a login

One account can be used for several websites, but the terms forbid sharing your login with third parties, scraping data or reselling it, and breaking these rules can end the account without a refund. Monthly plans renew automatically, and cancellation is by email to the admin address listed in the terms. Content in accounts left inactive for 60 days may be deleted. Neil Patel Digital, LLC runs the service. Its privacy notice (updated 18 June 2026, with a Las Vegas address) says the company is not in the business of selling personal information, but it does share data with partners, vendors and service providers such as Stripe, Salesforce and OpenAI.

If you are still unsure, run the free account for a week, then use the 7-day trial on the Individual monthly plan for a full audit and keyword sprint. Buy the lifetime tier only after that trial, when you know the limits fit your work.

Ubersuggest FAQ

What is Ubersuggest used for?

Ubersuggest is an SEO tool for keyword research, competitor traffic checks, backlink lookups, weekly site audits and rank tracking. Newer subscriptions also track brand visibility in ChatGPT and Gemini answers. Bloggers, freelancers and small agencies use it as a cheaper stand-in for Semrush or Ahrefs.

How much does Ubersuggest lifetime cost?

Lifetime access is a one-time payment. Neil Patel's own blog (updated July 2026) lists $290 for Individual, $490 for Business and $990 for Enterprise, about ten months of the monthly price. The pricing FAQ says lifetime purchases are non-refundable, and the terms tie them to the email you buy with.

How many free searches does Ubersuggest give?

The pricing page does not print a free quota, but Neil Patel's blog (updated April 2026) says you get one search a day without an account and three a day after a free sign-up. Paid plans allow 150, 300 or 900 reports a day.

How do you find keywords with Ubersuggest?

Enter a seed term in Keyword Overview with your country and language set, then open Keyword Ideas and filter by low SEO difficulty and a minimum volume. Check the top ten results to see who ranks, run Content Ideas on the same term, and add the final keywords to a project for rank tracking.

Is Ubersuggest data accurate?

Ubersuggest describes its figures as estimates drawn from several data providers, and its terms offer no accuracy warranty. URL metrics come from the Moz Links API. Use the numbers to compare keywords and competitors, and check your own site's figures against Google Search Console.

Ubersuggest vs Semrush: which is better?

Semrush has a deeper database, PPC and local tools and API access on its Advanced and Enterprise tiers, but its SEO plan starts at $139 a month. Ubersuggest starts at $29 a month and offers a one-time lifetime option. Semrush suits larger agencies; Ubersuggest suits solo users and small teams on a budget.

What is the Ubersuggest price in India?

Neil Patel Digital does not publish an official INR price list, and the pricing page shows US dollar prices of $29 to $99 a month. Indian buyers pay by international card or PayPal, so the bank's exchange rate and any foreign transaction fee apply. Confirm the final amount on the checkout screen.

What are the best Ubersuggest alternatives?

Free options include Google Search Console, Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs Webmaster Tools and Semrush's free account with 10 reports a day. AnswerThePublic, also owned by NP Digital, is useful for question-based content ideas. For paid depth, Semrush and Ahrefs are the main upgrades.

Ubersuggest daily limit reached: what should you do?

Wait for the daily reset, or switch to the free Chrome extension, which adds volume, CPC and traffic estimates under Google results. You can also start the one-time 7-day trial on a monthly plan. Paid users can buy 500 extra daily searches as a $5 monthly add-on.

Who is Ubersuggest best for?

It fits bloggers, freelancers, small business owners and small agencies who manage a few sites and want keyword, audit and rank data at a low price. It is not built for large agencies, huge e-commerce catalogues or teams that need API access, which Ubersuggest does not offer.
