Devmixa is a small web design and digital marketing team based in Bhopal. We build and maintain websites for local businesses, clinics, travel agencies and a handful of clients outside Madhya Pradesh, and most of what we build sits on WordPress. We are hiring a WordPress Developer to join our Bhopal office and take ownership of day-to-day work on these client sites, from small text edits to full page builds.
This is an entry-level WordPress Developer job in Bhopal, and it is a good fit for someone who has picked up WordPress through college projects, a short internship or freelance gigs, and now wants a full-time role where there is still a lot to learn in the first year. The monthly salary for this WordPress Developer position is 15000 rupees, with a review after the first few months based on the sites you ship and the feedback we get from clients.
A Bit More About Devmixa
We are a small team, so a WordPress Developer here is not one person among thirty. Most weeks it is two or three people handling design, development and client calls between them, which means you get to see a project from the first client conversation to the live site, not just the development slice of it. Our client base is mostly small businesses in and around Bhopal, with a few outside the city, so you will be working on real sites that real customers visit, not internal tools or demo projects.
What a Normal Week Looks Like
As a WordPress Developer on this team, most days you will be inside the dashboard of two or three client sites at a time. One day might involve rebuilding a homepage section in Elementor because a client did not like how it looked on their phone. Another might be spent setting up a new WooCommerce product catalogue for a client who just started selling online, or tracking down why a contact form stopped sending emails after a plugin update. You will also spend time on routine but necessary work: updating WordPress core, themes and plugins across the sites assigned to you, taking backups before any major change, and checking that nothing broke after an update went live.
Key Responsibilities
- Building new pages and sections on WordPress sites using Elementor, Gutenberg or the active theme's own page builder, based on designs handed over by our design team
- Installing, configuring and troubleshooting WordPress plugins, including contact forms, SEO plugins, caching tools, security plugins and image optimisation tools
- Fixing layout problems, broken links, broken forms and mobile display issues that clients report or that show up during your own testing
- Setting up and customising WooCommerce stores, including product pages, categories, payment gateways, shipping rules and basic store settings
- Migrating WordPress sites between hosting providers, including the database, media files and email, without losing search rankings in the process
- Running basic speed checks on live client sites and applying fixes such as image compression, caching rules and removing plugins nobody is using
- Keeping WordPress core, themes and plugins updated on a fixed schedule, with backups taken before each update
- Coordinating with the content and design team to turn Figma files or rough wireframes into working WordPress pages, section by section
- Writing short internal notes on each site you touch, so the next person who opens that client's WordPress dashboard knows what was changed and why
Skills and Qualifications We Are Looking For
- Working knowledge of WordPress: installing it, choosing and customising themes, and moving around the dashboard without hand-holding
- Basic HTML and CSS, plus enough PHP to read theme files and make small edits when a plugin alone cannot fix something
- Familiarity with at least one page builder, such as Elementor, Divi or the native WordPress block editor
- Some prior exposure to WooCommerce is useful, though we are open to training the right person on this if everything else fits
- Comfortable using cPanel or a similar hosting control panel for file management, backups, email setup and basic server tasks
- A graduate, or final year student, in Computer Science, IT or a related stream, or someone with equivalent hands-on WordPress project work instead of a formal degree
- Reasonable spoken and written English, since you will occasionally be on calls with clients to understand exactly what they want changed
- An eye for small visual details, since a lot of this WordPress developer job in Bhopal is about noticing why a page looks slightly off rather than writing code from scratch
Salary, Location and Work Mode
The salary for this WordPress Developer vacancy in Bhopal is 15000 rupees a month to start. This is a work-from-office role based at our Bhopal location, and we expect that for at least the first three months, since you will be learning our client sites, our internal checklists and how our small team hands off work to each other. A hybrid arrangement may be possible later, once you are confident handling client sites with less supervision.
Perks Beyond the Salary
Along with the fixed monthly pay, this WordPress Developer role comes with a handful of smaller things that add up: standard festival and casual leave, a short lunch break that is actually respected, and time set aside each week to go through a WordPress tutorial, plugin changelog or a client complaint that taught us something. We are not a large company with a long list of benefits, but we do try to make the day-to-day workable.
Who Should Apply
This WordPress Developer job in Bhopal suits a fresher, or someone with up to a year of experience, looking for their first or second real role in web development. If you have built even two or three WordPress sites on your own, personal projects, college assignments, or unpaid work for a relative's shop or clinic, that already counts. We are not screening for a specific degree or certificate. We are looking for someone who can sit with a live WordPress site, notice why a section looks broken on a phone screen, and actually fix it without being told exactly which plugin to open.
You should be based in Bhopal, or willing to relocate here before joining, since this is not a remote WordPress developer role at this salary. Daily travel to our office needs to work for you before you apply.
How This Role Can Grow
Most people who start with us as a WordPress Developer move in one of two directions after six months to a year: either into a senior developer role handling bigger and more technical client sites, or toward a WooCommerce-focused track if online stores turn out to be the part of the job they enjoy most. From week one, you are working on real client sites with real deadlines, not training exercises, which tends to speed up how fast people pick things up here. Salary and responsibilities get reviewed together, once you can take a design file and turn it into a working, live WordPress page with minimal back and forth.
Tools You Will Be Working With
As a WordPress Developer on our team, day to day you will mostly be inside WordPress itself, Elementor or a similar builder, WooCommerce for store-related work, cPanel for hosting tasks, and a mix of SEO and caching plugins we already run across client sites. We will walk you through our specific setup in the first week; you do not need to know our exact plugin stack before applying, and most of what we use is common enough in the WordPress world that any hands-on experience will transfer.
How to Apply
Use the Apply Now button on this page to apply for this WordPress Developer job in Bhopal. If you have a portfolio, even a Google Drive folder with screenshots of WordPress sites you have worked on, attach that link. It tells us more than a formatted resume will. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to make a small, specific change on a test WordPress site during the interview, so recent hands-on practice will help you more here than memorised theory.
