Our verdict
GoDaddy is a dependable first host for Indian beginners who value cPanel, daily backups and keeping domain, email and site in one place. Its weak points are the 3-year lock-in for the lowest price, unclear renewal rates and no Indian server, so compare carefully with Hostinger and Bluehost.
How this score works: the DevMixa score is research-based — we compare official pricing, features, documentation, support options, security and data policies, and public user feedback against other tools in the same category. It is not a hands-on test; tools we test ourselves are marked “Tested”.
What is GoDaddy Hosting?
This GoDaddy hosting review for beginners (India) is for anyone buying a first plan, such as a shop owner, a freelancer or a student blogger. GoDaddy sells shared cPanel hosting and managed WordPress plans on its Indian site with rupee prices, and the entry rates look very low. The catch sits in the fine print, mainly the long first term and a much higher list price later. Everything below is based on GoDaddy's India product pages, its refund policy and terms, checked on 16 October 2026, plus the India pages of Hostinger and Bluehost.
What GoDaddy hosting is and who it suits
GoDaddy is an American company founded in 1997 and headquartered in Tempe, Arizona. It is best known as a domain registrar, and hosting is sold as an add-on to that domain business. According to its company overview, it serves over 20 million customers who hold more than 80 million domain names.
The shared hosting line runs on cPanel, the control panel most Indian web agencies and freelance developers already know. The plans suit people who want their domain, email and website billed by one company and managed from one account. They suit high-traffic stores much less, as you will see in the speed section.
GoDaddy hosting plans price in India
The India web hosting page lists four shared plans. Every intro rate shown applies only to the first 3-year term, so you pay for 36 months upfront to get it. The higher figure printed beside each price is GoDaddy's list price.
| Plan | Intro price (first 3-year term) | List price | Websites | NVMe storage | Key extras |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | ₹89/mo | ₹299/mo | 1 | 10 GB | cPanel only, no free domain or email listed |
| Economy | ₹219/mo | ₹599/mo | 1 | 25 GB | Free domain, free email, free SSL for 1 year, Node.js |
| Deluxe | ₹329/mo | ₹849/mo | 10 | 50 GB | Free domain, email, unlimited free SSL, Node.js |
| Ultimate | ₹399/mo | ₹1,099/mo | 25 | 75 GB | Free domain, email, unlimited free SSL, Node.js |
All four include unmetered bandwidth, automatic daily backups, a 99.9% uptime guarantee and a 30-day money-back promise. For most first sites, Economy hosting is the sensible floor because Starter drops the free domain and email. If you plan two or more sites, Deluxe hosting at ₹329 a month covers ten. Ultimate hosting only makes sense if you run many small client sites. GoDaddy also sells VPS hosting from ₹649 a month (1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM) on the same 3-year intro basis, with a choice of North America, Europe or Asia-Pacific during setup.
GoDaddy cPanel hosting renewal price
The plan cards do not print a renewal price. They show the intro rate and the list price, and GoDaddy's Universal Terms of Service say renewals are charged at the company's then-current rates, which may be higher or lower than what you first paid. Services are also set to auto-renew by default unless you switch that off in your account.
Plan around the list price. On Economy that is ₹599 a month against an intro rate of ₹219, close to three times as much. Over the first 36 months Economy costs about ₹7,884 before tax. If the list price is what applies at renewal, the next 36 months would cost about ₹21,564. Check the exact total in your cart, including GST, before you pay, and set a calendar reminder a month before the term ends.
What you get: free domain first year, SSL, email and backups
Economy, Deluxe and Ultimate show a free domain with an asterisk. The web hosting page does not print what that footnote says, so confirm the term in the cart. Read the refund policy closely here. If you cancel a product that came with a free domain, GoDaddy deducts the domain's undiscounted list price from your refund.
- GoDaddy SSL: cPanel accounts get free certificates through AutoSSL. Economy lists free SSL for one year, while Deluxe and Ultimate list unlimited free SSL.
- GoDaddy email: Economy and higher list free email. The page does not say how many mailboxes, so ask sales before you rely on it for a team.
- Backups: every plan gets automatic daily backups, and the whole account can be restored from the previous day.
- Apps: the FAQ says WordPress, Joomla, Magento and Drupal are supported, and Node.js 22 apps run on Economy and up.
For a simple brochure site, the GoDaddy website builder is a separate product with a free start (50 AI credits a month).
GoDaddy WordPress hosting plans and features
Managed WordPress is a separate line with its own pricing. Here the intro rates apply to a 1-year term, which is shorter and easier to test than the 3-year shared deal.
- Basic, ₹149/mo (list ₹749): 1 site (more can be added for a fee), 10 GB NVMe storage, no staging.
- Deluxe, ₹499/mo (list ₹999): 1 site, 20 GB, one-click staging, a CDN and an SEO Optimizer.
- Ultimate, ₹849/mo (list ₹1,399): 3 sites, 30 GB, plus WooCommerce selling, priority support, Object Cache Pro, Git integration and PHP version control.
Every plan includes pre-installed WordPress with automatic updates, daily backups, malware scanning and removal, a web application firewall, DDoS protection and Patchstack vulnerability scanning. A free domain, email and SSL are listed too. That removes most update and security chores for a non-technical owner. The Basic jump from ₹149 to a ₹749 list price is steep, though, so budget for it.
Is it fast enough for SEO?
Google cares about how quickly real visitors load your pages. Server location plays a part in that. GoDaddy's web hosting page says its shared plans run from data centres in North America and Europe. It names no India or Asia location for these plans. For a site whose readers are mostly in India, every request travels a long way, and that is the most likely reason a GoDaddy site feels slow from Delhi or Bengaluru.
The managed WordPress Deluxe and Ultimate plans include a CDN, which serves cached files from locations closer to visitors. On shared hosting, keep themes light, compress images and add a caching plugin. If Indian traffic is your priority, a host with an Indian server will usually be the simpler fix.
GoDaddy vs Hostinger for Indian buyers
Hostinger's India web hosting page lists prices on a 48-month term and prints renewal rates on each card, which makes cost planning easier. Single starts at ₹69 a month and renews at ₹289. Premium is ₹149 (renews ₹449) for 3 sites, and Unlimited is ₹249 (renews ₹649) with daily backups. Hostinger's help centre lists India as a server location for web and cloud hosting, which helps load times for local visitors.
- Price: Hostinger is cheaper on intro and on stated renewal for comparable single-site plans, but it locks you in for four years instead of three.
- Backups: GoDaddy gives daily backups on every shared plan. Hostinger's two lower plans list weekly backups.
- Panel: GoDaddy uses cPanel. Hostinger uses its own hPanel, which is simple for beginners but less familiar to outside developers.
- Location: Hostinger offers an India server, while GoDaddy's shared plans list only North America and Europe.
For a typical Indian blog, Hostinger wins on price clarity and server location. GoDaddy suits buyers who want cPanel and daily backups.
GoDaddy vs Bluehost: which is better?
Bluehost's India shared hosting page prices plans on a 36-month term and prints the renewal rate on each card, which GoDaddy does not. Starter is ₹199 a month and renews at ₹349. Business is ₹279 and renews at ₹529. GST is added at checkout.
The plan limits were consistent. Starter allows 10 websites on 10 GB of NVMe storage, and Business allows 50 sites on 50 GB. Bluehost includes a free domain for the first year on 12- or 36-month terms, free Let's Encrypt SSL, weekly backups and a 30-day money-back window. Email is only a Pro Email trial, after which it bills at ₹238 a month. Bluehost says its data centres are in North America, South America, Europe and Asia, and you choose one at checkout.
GoDaddy Economy is a little cheaper at first and bundles email and daily backups, but covers one site. Bluehost renews lower, allows far more sites per plan and offers an Asian location. For several small sites, pick Bluehost. For one site with email, GoDaddy is reasonable.
Support in India and how refunds work
GoDaddy's India contact page lists a phone line, 040-49187600, open every day from 9 am to 7 pm, and 24x7 chat. The hosting page says its support team, called GoDaddy Guides, has more than 3,500 people across over 20 countries. There is also a public status page that reports outages for hosting, email, domains and SSL.
To cancel and get money back, request the refund before you close your account, because closing the account first makes you ineligible. Annual hosting plans are refundable within 30 days of purchase and monthly plans within 48 hours. Any free domain's list price is deducted, as noted above.
Privacy, data and commercial use
GoDaddy publishes a Global Privacy Notice (last revised 28 May 2026) and Universal Terms of Service for India (revised 3 June 2026). You can run a commercial site or online shop on any plan. Shared hosting files sit in North America or Europe. If your clients ask for India-only data storage, these plans will not meet that request.
Limitations to weigh before paying
- The best price needs a 3-year prepayment, and the plan cards do not print the renewal rate.
- No India data centre is listed for shared hosting.
- Starter skips the free domain and email, so it is weaker than it looks.
- Free-domain cost is deducted if you cancel within the refund window.
- Mailbox counts and database limits are not stated on the plan page.
How to get started
- Pick Economy for one site or Deluxe for several. Choose managed WordPress Basic if you prefer a 1-year commitment.
- Search for your domain during checkout and claim the included free domain.
- Compare the cart total, with GST, against the list price you will face later.
- In cPanel, install WordPress, confirm AutoSSL has issued a certificate and create your mailbox.
- Turn off auto-renew if you want to review the price manually before the term ends.
GoDaddy hosting review for beginners: India verdict
GoDaddy is a safe, familiar choice for a first site if you want cPanel, daily backups and your domain and email under one login. It is not the cheapest over time, and the lack of an Indian server is a real drawback for local audiences. Read the cart carefully, plan for the list price, and compare it with Hostinger and Bluehost before you commit three years of money.

GoDaddy Hosting FAQ
Is GoDaddy hosting good?
It is a reasonable choice for beginners who want cPanel, daily backups and their domain and email in one account. Its weaknesses are the 3-year prepayment needed for the lowest price, renewal rates that are not printed on the plan cards, and no India data centre for shared plans.
How much does GoDaddy hosting cost in India?
On GoDaddy's India page, shared plans start at ₹89 a month for Starter, ₹219 for Economy, ₹329 for Deluxe and ₹399 for Ultimate, all for the first 3-year term. List prices are ₹299, ₹599, ₹849 and ₹1,099 a month. Managed WordPress starts at ₹149 a month for the first year.
Does GoDaddy hosting come with a free domain?
Economy, Deluxe and Ultimate web hosting plans, and all managed WordPress plans, list a free domain. Starter does not. If you cancel for a refund, GoDaddy deducts the domain's list price from the amount returned.
How do I host a WordPress site on GoDaddy?
The simplest route is a managed WordPress plan, which comes with WordPress pre-installed and updated automatically. On a cPanel web hosting plan, you can install WordPress from cPanel yourself. GoDaddy also offers a migration wizard to move an existing WordPress site.
Is GoDaddy hosting fast enough for SEO?
It can be, but the shared plans list data centres only in North America and Europe, which adds delay for visitors in India. Managed WordPress Deluxe and Ultimate include a CDN that helps. Light themes, compressed images and caching matter as much as the host.
GoDaddy vs Bluehost, which is better?
Bluehost India prints clear renewal prices (Starter is ₹199 a month and renews at ₹349 on a 36-month term), allows 10 sites on Starter and lets you choose an Asian data centre at checkout. GoDaddy Economy is slightly cheaper at first and includes email and daily backups, but hosts only one site. Pick Bluehost for several sites and GoDaddy for one site with email.
GoDaddy vs Hostinger, which is better for India?
Hostinger is usually better for Indian audiences because it lists India as a server location and prints renewal prices. Its Single plan starts at ₹69 a month and renews at ₹289. GoDaddy's advantage is cPanel and daily backups on every shared plan.
How do I cancel GoDaddy hosting and get a refund?
Request the refund from your account before closing it, since closing the account makes you ineligible. Annual hosting is refundable within 30 days and monthly plans within 48 hours. The list price of any free domain is deducted.
What are the best GoDaddy hosting alternatives?
Hostinger suits budget buyers who want an India server and clear renewal prices. Bluehost suits people running several sites on one plan. If you outgrow shared hosting, GoDaddy's own VPS plans start at ₹649 a month for the first 3-year term.
Why is my GoDaddy website slow?
Common causes are heavy themes, too many plugins, large uncompressed images and no caching. For Indian visitors, distance also matters, as GoDaddy's shared plans are hosted in North America or Europe. A CDN, a caching plugin or an India-based host can help.
